How does the Invisalign® process work?

To start your Invisalign® journey, we will take photos of your teeth and face, as well as take dental impressions and x-rays. This information will be sent to Invisalign® with instructions from your dentist on the desired outcome. Invisalign® will then use the impressions to create a 3D model of your teeth. When the trays are finalized, they will be shipped to Warwick Dental. You will need to wear a set of trays for two weeks at a time for around two years, or however long your dentist recommends.

Invisalign® vs. braces—what's the difference?

There are significant differences between Invisalign® aligners and braces. We have listed the most prominent ones below. Ultimately, choosing one over the other is up to you. However, introducing clear aligners in the market has brought a more efficient and less painful way of straightening teeth.

• Materials: Invisalign® aligners are made of clear transparent plastic, whereas braces use wires and brackets.
• Removability: Invisalign® aligners can be removed by the user anytime, while a professional can only remove braces.
• Food Restrictions: Invisalign® allows users to eat whatever they like and maintain their oral care routine as usual. Braces restrict what users can eat safely and require special maintenance and care.
• Injury Risks: Invisalign® aligners do not pose any injury risks, while braces can cause cuts and other injuries.
• Visibility: Invisalign® aligners are hardly noticeable by others, whereas braces are almost impossible to miss.

Who can use Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is an effective option for mild to moderate orthodontic corrections in teens and adults, particularly for correcting crooked and misaligned teeth, spacing problems, and minor bite issues. However, not all orthodontic issues can be treated with Invisalign®, and more extensive problems may require other forms of treatment.

How much does Invisalign® cost?

The cost of Invisalign® treatment is similar to that of traditional metal braces. However, the cost may vary depending on two factors:

• Insurance coverage: Most insurance plans cover Invisalign® treatment the same way they cover metal braces. However, insurance companies rarely cover Invisalign® treatment for cosmetic reasons. It is always best to check with your insurance provider to know more.
• Length and complexity of treatment: Invisalign® treatment involves a series of clear aligners that are changed every couple of weeks. Therefore, the cost may vary depending on how many aligners your treatment plan requires.
