Dental Crowns and Bridges in OKC
Dental crowns and bridges are effective restorations for lost or severely damaged teeth. They are designed to look natural and provide essential support for chewing and speaking. We use high-quality materials to ensure that the restorations last as long as possible and deliver exceptional performance.
At Warwick Dental, we ensure dental crowns and bridges blend seamlessly with your existing teeth and function like natural teeth. You can expect to make at least two visits when getting dental crowns or bridges. During the first visit, we take impressions of your teeth and send them to a dental laboratory. Once the crown or bridge is ready, you can return to have it fitted to ensure it fits properly.

What is a dental crown?
A dental crown is a cap used when a tooth has an extensive filling that exceeds the natural tooth structure, has undergone root canal therapy, or for cosmetic purposes. Dental crowns have various uses. Firstly, they can be placed over a damaged tooth to cover the existing structure, which restores the damaged tooth so it can be used normally. Crowns can also be attached to dental implants to replace missing teeth; these implants are surgically inserted into the jawbone and serve as the root for the tooth, keeping the crown steady and secure. In addition, dental crowns may be used to provide extra support for dental bridges. They do not require special treatment and can be brushed and flossed normally.

What is a dental bridge?
Dental bridges are commonly used when a patient has lost one or more teeth. They are called bridges because they consist of one or more replacement teeth that bridge the gap created by the missing teeth. Dental bridges can be secured using abutment crowns on each end or permanently installed precision metal mechanisms. At Warwick Dental, we custom design each component of a dental bridge to ensure that it looks natural and provides the desired performance.

How do temporary dental crowns work?
When getting a permanent dental crown, your dentist will first shape the tooth base to create an impression for the crown. During the time it takes for the permanent crown to be made, your tooth may be vulnerable. In the meantime, your dentist will place a temporary dental crown to protect your tooth. When you return for the fitting appointment, the temporary crown will be removed, and the permanent crown will be placed onto the prepared tooth base.
